PROJECT CASE STUDY

Maternal & Infant Nutritional Security

Addressing maternal anemia and infant malnutrition across 120 rural Gram Panchayats in North Gujarat.

The Grassroots Challenge

Remote hamlets across Mehsana and Patan districts faced high rates of maternal anemia and lack of specialized antenatal care during pregnancy.

MRCF's Intervention

MRCF deployed Swasthya Sahelis (community health volunteers) to conduct door-to-door screenings and distribute high-protein, iron, and folic acid nutrition kits to pregnant and lactating women.

Verified Measurable Impact

  • 18,000+ Mothers & Infants: Supported with 3-month comprehensive nutritional kits.
  • 120 Gram Panchayats: Covered across Mehsana, Bechraji, and Satlasana.
  • Partner: Mehsana Jesis Charitable Trust & Sarvoday Voluntary Blood Bank.
